Fishing qualification & permits
According to the Tirolean Fisheries Act, fishers at Lake Achensee require a fishing qualification. Fishing qualifications from non-Austrian countries are of course also recognised. Furthermore, fishing is only permitted for individuals aged 14 years and over. Anyone who is under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a qualified supervisor.
Fishing in the Achensee region is only allowed with a Tirolean fishing licence or a guest fishing permit. Guest fishing permits are valid for 14 days throughout Tirol. In addition, a day licence is required for fishing in the Achensee region. Guest fishing permits and day licences are available online at www.hejfish.com or at the Welcome-CENTER Achensee in the Atoll Achensee in Maurach. Annual permits are available from seeverwaltung-achensee@innsbruck.gv.at.
