Achensee Long-Distance Swim
The Achensee Long-Distance Swim on 4 July 2027 combines a sporting challenge with an extraordinary natural setting, nestled between the Tyrolean mountains and Tirol’s largest lake. The open-water swim in Lake Achensee offers a choice of distances ranging from 250 metres up to the supreme challenge of nine kilometres. This makes Lake Achensee one of the venues for major open-water swimming competitions in the Alps, alongside well-known Alpine lakes such as Tegernsee and Chiemsee. As part of the "arena Alpen Open Water Cup", the long-distance swim at Lake Achensee also features the longest scored distance in the entire series.

Secure your place at the 2027 Achensee Long-Distance Swim. Anyone wishing to participate in these special open-water swimming competitions should register early. This applies in particular to the supreme event – the nine-kilometre swim across Lake Achensee – as well as to the “arena Alpen Open Water Cup” All-Event Ticket.
Race number distribution and the awards ceremony will be held at the SEE-Bad at the Atoll Achensee in Maurach.
The supreme event: 9 kilometres
Yes, you read that right! The swimmers cross the entire length of Lake Achensee. The race starts in Achenkirch at the bathing beach Achensee Nord (Strandbad Achenkirch) and finishes in Maurach at the SEE-Bad at the Atoll Achensee. These nine kilometres constitute the supreme event of the Achensee long-distance swimming series and are also the longest scored distance in the entire "arena Alpen Open Water Cup". This makes the Achensee the venue for the longest race in the Cup series across the Alps.
From 250 metres to 5 kilometres
As well as the supreme 9-kilometre race, the swimming competiion offers other distances for different ability and age groups. Participants can choose between the 5-kilometre middle-distance race and the 2.5-kilometre short-distance race. For children, teenagers and recreational swimmers, there are also races over 500 and 250 metres. The start and finish of these events are in Maurach at the SEE-Bad at the Atoll Achensee.
