The Bike Trail Tirol is a 1,000-kilometre mountain bike trail through Tirol comprising 32 stages. Three scenic stages of this long-distance cycle trail cut across the Achensee region.
This exceptionally demanding stage takes riders through the entire Nature Park Karwendel, covering 61.5 kilometres and 1,850 metres of elevation. The beauty of the natural surroundings which accompanies the route is hard to top. After ca. 6 hours, riders will reach the stage finish in Maurach-Buchau.
This stage travels from Maurach via the Kögljoch in the Rofan mountains to the Kaiserhaus in Brandenbergtal. The route climbs over 1,450 metres of elevation to the Kaiserklamm. At the entrance to the ravine, there is a 500-year old forester's hut where already Emperor Franz Joseph I. stopped off.
This easy stage of the Bike Trail Tirol starts in Zell am Ziller in the Zillertal and leads from the cycle path in the valley over 36 kilometres and 400 metres of elevation to Lake Achensee. How about rounding off the day with taking a dip in the lake?
