Advent in the centuries-old barn!

Tirolean Mountain Christmas

The Sixenhof in Achenkirch is a typical Tirolean single farmhouse and home to the Achental local history museum. From 26 November to 27 December 2022 (on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays), the Sixenhof provides the peaceful setting for the Tirolean Mountain Christmas, whose main attraction is a nativity scene in the centuries-old barn complete with life-size figures and real live animals. Visitors can also admire a traditionally decorated Christmas tree and one of the oldest nativity scenes of the Achental. As you soak in the quaint atmosphere, warm up with hot drinks and “Zelten”, a traditional fruit bread from the local bakery. The admission fee includes a visit to the rooms of the museum.

Each year, the local history museum Achental - Sixenhof plays host to the Tirolean Mountain Christmas with a live-size nativity scene and live animals.
