During Advent, a boat trip on Lake Achensee becomes a truly special winter experience. As you sail from one Christmas market to the next on the Achenseeschifffahrt Christmas line, you can enjoy the wintry mountain scenery as well as mulled wine, hot drinks and homemade snacks on board.

The Christmas line operates from 27 November to 27 December 2026, from Friday to Sunday. An additional service is scheduled for 8 December. On these days, the boats run from 11.30 to 16.10. You can find all departure times and landing piers in the current Christmas timetable.

Cruise to three Advent markets by boat

The Achenseeschifffahrt Christmas line not only takes you across the wintry Lake Achensee, but also combines the boat trip with visits to three special Christmas markets in Pertisau and Achenkirch. There is plenty of time during the stopovers to explore the Advent markets on shore.

Mountain Advent at the Fischergut in Pertisau: This atmospheric Christmas market, held in one of the region’s oldest farmhouses, offers regional arts and crafts and Tyrolean specialities in a festive atmosphere. There is also a great programme for children.
Landweihnacht Christmas market at the Kräuterhüttl in Achenkirch: The Achenseeschifffahrt Christmas line also stops at the Scholastika pier. From there, you can visit the cozy Christmas market at the Kräuterhüttl. On the days of the event, a varied Advent programme awaits you here, featuring festive music and culinary specialities that change daily.
Tyrolean Mountain Christmas at the Sixenhof Local History Museum: If you want to discover old holiday traditions around Lake Achensee, make sure to visit the Tyrolean Mountain Christmas in Achenkirch. Step inside the centuries-old stable for a journey back in time, where life-size figures, an ox, a donkey, and sheep bring the scene to life. Afterward, head into the festively decorated parlour to enjoy "Zelten," a traditional fruit bread baked fresh by a local baker.
