Place of power Steinberg am Rofan

Experience peace and connect with the power of nature in Steinberg am Rofan, where the Österreichische Bundesforste have built a viewing platform from local larch wood. A true "place of power" in a breathtaking natural setting with incredible views.

The hiking route starts from the parish church Steinberg (1,015 metres). Walk in a northerly direction descend to the Mühlbach stream. Turn right and follow the asphalt road to the so-called "Loch". Head right, walk over the bridge and past the barrier and continue along the Grundache to the Schmalzklause (not serviced). The viewing platform is on the right, before the tunnel. Walking time ca. 1.5 hours.

The place of power is also easily accessible by bike. Cyclists follow the same route as hikers and can extend their tour to include the route of the "496 Schmalzklausen Runde" MTB Tour.
