Maurach - Durrawand - Dalfaz Alm - Schützensteig - Buchauer Alm – Maurach

From the valley station of the Rofan cable car, follow the path past the hotel Naturhotel Alpenblick until you reach the wooden bridge. After the bridge, the forest road turns left and after ca. 300 metres a narrow trail branches off to the right. The trail climbs to the Durraalm (not serviced) by way of switchbacks. Walk along the Durrawand until you reach the Dalfaz Alm and continue to the Erfurter Hütte and the sitting bench. From here, turn right (signpost). First walk over an alpine meadow, then continue through the forest via the Schützensteig trail to the ski descent. Follow this trail to the Buchauer Alm*). From here, walk back to the starting point via the forest road or the hiking trail.

*) Sadly, the Buchauer Alm was destroyed in a tragic fire. It is not yet clear whether the mountain hut will be rebuilt.
