Adlerhorst viewing platform

Sightseeing

At the summit of the Gschöllkopf, at an altitude of 2,390 metres, there sits a giant eagle's nest – a viewing platform made from metal mesh. This platform called "Adlerhorst" was designed by the renowned Tirolean artist blacksmith Manfred Hörl from Jenbach. Roughly 15 tonnes of metal were used for this remarkable construction. The 8-metre-wide platform ,which offers a 360° panorama and benches, is very popular among hikers - but only accessible in summer. The Adlerhorst affords fantastic views of Lake Achensee, the Karwendel mountains, the Zillertal and Tux Alps, the Hohe Tauern and the lower Inntal valley.

The platform is also one of the highlights of the multi award-winning “Adlerweg” (Eagle Walk) hiking route that cuts right through the Tirol region for a total of 413 kilometres.
