If you just want to go scrambling, the climbing crag Mauritzalm is the ideal spot, lying within five minutes approach from the mountain station of the Rofan cable car. The small practice terrain features four ca. 8-metre-high routes in difficulty levels 3 and 4, making them most suitable for children and beginner climbers who want to improve their rope skills.

Climbing adventure for children and beginners: The rough slab with routes up to 20 metres long is located exactly between the Grubastiege and the Grubaplatte and is very well suited to practice lead climbing. The 30-minute approach gives you the opportunity to get attuned to the “Platzl” experience.

The Achenseehof climbing crag is perfect if you’re dipping your fingers into chalk for the first time or looking to hone your skills. In addition to climbing routes for children, youngsters and beginners, there are also various difficult routes available. The crag is located at the Achenseehof tunnel directly at Lake Achensee. Hit the beach for sunbathing or take a dip in the cool water! Kids can let off some steam at the nearby playgrounds.

Your vertical adventure begins after an approach of ca. 20 minutes. The 15-metre-high wall has excellent rock quality and features seven moderately difficult secured routes. Named after famous characters such as Spider Man and Mickey Mouse, the routes are especially popular among young climbers. The “Grubastiege” climbing crag also offers distinct water grooves and countless “jug-handles”.

A prominent slab eroded by water located on the way to the Rofanspitze, this crag offers you the opportunity to try out slab climbing and to improve your footwork. The crag is moderately difficult and therefore most suitable for children and beginners. It starts at the mountain station of the Rofan cable car and has an approach of ca. 30 minutes. The Grubaplatte is divided in A & B.
