Get outside and play!

Your mountain adventure playground

In summer, the Achensee holiday region boasts a wide range of children’s playgrounds – small and large, located directly at the lake or near mountain huts and inns. Our mountain summer playgrounds encourage children to engage in creative and physical play. The parents can enjoy some me-time while their children romp around within eyesight.

Gramai Alm

The Gramai Alm in the Karwendel valleys in Pertisau is one of many family-friendly mountain huts. Located seven kilometres from Pertisau at the end of the Falzthurntal valley, the Gramaialm can be reached by car, bicycle or by foot. Children can let off some steam and have lots of fun on the adventure playground with trampoline, slide, swing and other modern and safe play equipment. Another highlight is the petting zoo with goats, pot-bellied pigs, ducks and dwarf rabbits. Petting and feeding is of course allowed. The terrace of the Gramaialm is right next to the alpine garden, so the children are always within eyesight.

Gern Alm

The Gern Alm in the Nature Park Karwendel is another popular family excursion. From Pertisau, the mountain hut can be reached within two hours’ walk or by car or bicycle via the toll road. The main attraction for young guests is the adventure playground “Gimp’l Park” with climbing frame, zipline, water play area, sand pit, slackline, swings and a slide for small children. There is also a game enclosure nearby where deer and roe deer can be watched up close. Cows and calves are also at home at the mountain hut and look forward to a visit.

Alpine animals circular walk

On the alpine animals circular walk children can watch native animals such as hares or chamois, and if you are quiet and look closely you can even discover roe deer. Several adventure stations are distributed along the trail where the kids learn interesting facts about the region in a playful way. In addition, the experience is accompanied by a funny dwarf story.

The alpine animals circular walk on the Zwölferkopf mountain is the perfect destination to go on a family hike.

Gaisalm

The Gaisalm, which is only accessible by foot or by ship, enjoys an idyllic setting at the lake between Pertisau and Achenkirch. Children can let off some steam on the playground or on the large meadow while the parents soak in the view of the lake. A boat trip to the mountain hut with the Achenseeschifffahrt is a memorable experience for children as well.

FAMILY-Eldorado

Ahoy sailor! Right next to the Atoll Achensee, the adventure ship St. Benedikt is a popular attraction for young visitors. After cruising on Lake Achensee for almost 60 years, the 31-metre-long ship was taken out of service and converted into an outdoor play paradise. Do your children love playing pirates? There is a play tower, suspension bridge, bird’s nest tree and climbing net for young adventurers to explore. In addition, a low ropes course, swing set, seesaw and flying fox offer plenty of opportunities for kids to let off some steam. The XXL sandbox and the open and tube slides will keep smaller children entertained.
