Maurach am Achensee
Maurach offers winter fun for all the family: Young children practice their first turns at the ski school, while older siblings hit the slopes with ski instructors. Parents enjoy cross-country skiing by the lake, while grandparents stroll through snowy landscapes. And the adventurous aunt takes a ride on the AIRROFAN Skylider, racing downhill at speeds of up to 80 km/h. In the afternoon, families reunite for shared activities: splashing around at the Atoll Achensee with its family pools, water playground, and tyre slide, or relaxing in the Penthouse-SPA with saunas and massages.
Achenkirch am Achensee
Achenkirch is also an ideal destination for bringing three generations together through a shared mountain experience. The ski area Christlum, known for its wide slopes, is perfect for families with children. Alternatively, parents can enjoy ski touring while young children take their first turns at the ski school. For a unique family experience, join our ranger-led winter walks to see the wildlife in Austria’s largest nature reserve, the Nature Park Karwendel.
Pertisau am Achensee
The Planberg and Wiesen lifts are perfect for beginners, and the ski school offers lessons for all ages. Families can hit the slopes together at the ski area Zwölferkopf, while grandparents enjoy the panoramic circular walk. Try tobogganing from the Zwölferkopf to Pertisau and take the cable car back up to repeat the thrill. A second toboggan run starts at the Rodlhütte, which can be reached on foot or by the "Rodlexpress" shuttle. For more action-packed fun, try snow tubing on inflatable tubes. Pertisau is also famous for its excellent cross-country ski trails, which run through the village and into the picturesque Karwendel valleys.
Steinberg am Rofan
Small, quiet, and perfect for those seeking to connect with nature, Steinberg am Rofan is a true winter idyll. It is also an excellent destination for winter hiking, tobogganing, or cross-country skiing in the stillness of winter - alone or with the whole family. Steinberg is one of Tirol’s „Mountaineering Villages“, which focus on environmental awareness and sustainable tourism.
Wiesing
In winter, the charming community of Wiesing in the Inntal valley transforms into a picturesque wonderland. Visitors can immerse themselves in the serene beauty of the snow-covered landscape by gliding along groomed cross-country ski trails or strolling along cleared winter hiking trails. For a bit more excitement, there’s a thrilling 3-kilometre toboggan run waiting to be discovered.
