This scenic long-distance hiking trail follows varied mountain and hiking paths and is aimed at experienced hikers with a good level of fitness. The daily stages are challenging, but reward you with impressive landscapes and unforgettable views.

From Germany via Lake Achensee in Tirol to Italy! The route connects Lake Tegernsee, Lake Achensee, the Zillertal and the Wipptal, leading to the historic destination of Sterzing in South Tyrol. This unforgettable Alpine crossing takes you along moderately difficult trails that wind past alpine pastures, mountain passes, forest paths, and scenic high-altitude ridges.

Stage 2: Wildbad Kreuth – Achenkirch

The second stage of the Alpine crossing follows a scenic long-distance hiking trail from Wildbad Kreuth in Bavaria (Germany) to Achenkirch am Achensee in Tirol (Austria). This cross-border hiking stage links the Bavarian Pre-Alps with the Achensee holiday region and is one of the scenic highlights of the route from Lake Tegernsee to Sterzing.

Stage 3: Achenkirch – Pertisau – Maurach – Fügen

The third stage of the Alpine crossing leads from Achenkirch along the western shore of Lake Achensee via Pertisau to Maurach. Lake Achensee, also known as the "Fjord of Tirol," is the largest lake in Tirol and is one of the most beautiful natural backdrops along the transalpine route. The walk combines scenic lakeside paths, impressive mountain landscapes, and cultural highlights. From Maurach, you will easily reach the day’s destination of Fügen in the Zillertal.
