I stayed at the Posthotel Achenkirch in August and my overall impression was very mixed. On the positive side, I'd like to highlight the very friendly and attentive staff, the cleanliness, and the truly impressive spa facilities spanning approximately 7,000 square meters. There are also numerous options for active vacationers, such as golf and horseback riding. A particular highlight is the free parking garage with concierge service and even a car wash – that's truly exceptional and a great service. However, the location is somewhat remote. There are practically no restaurants or bars in the immediate vicinity, and Lake Achensee is about 5 km away. Directly opposite the hotel is the church, whose bells ring as early as 7:00 a.m. – something to be aware of for late risers. What particularly disappointed me, though, was my room. I had booked and paid for a room of approximately 45 square meters with a bathtub and mountain view. When I inquired, I was told that I had instead received an upgrade: a newer room of about 30 square meters with a shower. That would have been nice in principle, but my room overlooked St. Anne's Church and the rusty roof of the multi-purpose hall. To be honest, for me, this isn't an upgrade, but rather a step backward, especially since I specifically booked and paid for a larger room with a bathtub and mountain view. I would have expected a much better and more transparent solution. Despite the fantastic spa area, the friendly staff, and the many positive aspects, I'm unfortunately left with a disappointing overall impression. For this reason, I can't really recommend the Posthotel at the moment and probably won't be visiting again. It's a shame, because the hotel actually has a lot of potential given its facilities and spa area.

First-world problems. My wife and I took a short break here. The hotel is truly beautiful and spacious. Overall, it's very clean. This was our second stay, and we've both had lovely, pleasant days. The large spa and sauna area is beautifully designed. The pools are clean and well-maintained. A highlight among the pools is the combination of a cold and a warm saltwater pool. - What wasn't so great, and yes, the same old problem, was the people reserving the sun loungers. Since we usually spent our time at the pool from 8 a.m. to around 3 p.m., we were able to observe this quite clearly. There are actually people who reserve the best spots from 8 a.m. onwards, only to jump in the pool once around noon and then disappear again. However, it must be said that there were always plenty of sun loungers available. The hotel's location is perfect for hiking and exploring. The hotel also offers interesting courses, sports, hiking, and lectures. What wasn't so great, though—and this is always a problem—was the reserving of sun loungers. Our room, a suite, is showing its age. The beds were incredibly soft and worn out, so we needed time each morning just to get our bones straight. However, we were informed that this very suite will soon be renovated and modernized. The staff throughout the hotel are incredibly friendly and helpful. The food is very high quality and tastes good, and there's usually something for everyone. However, we think the cuisine is geared more towards an older clientele (over 60). It's cooked gently and easily digestible. Lunch is served in a rather sterile environment, reminiscent of a nursing home or hospital lounge. A bit more modernization would be welcome. Which brings me to my next point: perhaps we're still too young (47) for this hotel, but we always got a spa/retirement home vibe. Maybe that was due to our room. ;-) What we found unacceptable for a 5-star hotel was that our suitcases weren't in our room and that the welcome card in the room had the wrong name on it. We informed reception, who apologized, saying something like, "Oops, it was the previous guest's," but did nothing to correct the mistake. The suitcases were finally delivered about 20 minutes later. Completely unceremonious, without any "sorry" or anything... Sure, it might seem petty, but you pay a lot of money and you really don't want to have to worry about anything or chase after your belongings. Also, the drink prices are "steep." A cola and wheat beer costs over €10. We don't think that's reasonable... Nevertheless, all in all, we had a wonderful stay. We can wholeheartedly recommend the hotel (tastes and preferences vary, of course). Those who enjoy wellness will especially appreciate it here.

The hotel is exceptionally well-equipped. The spa area is particularly noteworthy. The buffet leaves nothing to be desired. You can't help but feel comfortable there. We had a wonderful time relaxing and recharging. The surroundings are picturesque and soothing.

We stayed here for two days to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Unlike other hotels, we were able to book exactly as we wanted. From check-in onwards, we felt very comfortable. The staff was consistently friendly and attentive, always making sure we were happy. We made extensive use of the spa area during our two days there and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our room was romantically decorated last night. The only drawback is the dinner. For those who enjoy the five-course menu and the delicacies, the price of €60 per person might be justified based on the food offered. For someone like us, who only has a light meal and perhaps dessert, it's simply too expensive. Alternatively, there's nothing available at the hotel after 5:30 pm, and if you're hungry, you have to go to a pizzeria. This needs to be changed; the prices should definitely be clearly displayed. Nevertheless, we felt very comfortable and can imagine coming back again.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this beautiful wellness hotel and were delighted from beginning to end. We really lacked for nothing. The entire hotel is exceptionally well-maintained and clean, and the rooms are comfortable and inviting. We would like to give special praise to the cuisine. The food was outstanding, varied, and prepared with great attention to detail. Every day was a culinary highlight. However, what impressed us most was the exceptionally friendly, attentive, and professional staff. From the hotel manager to the service and reception staff, right down to the housekeeping staff, we were always warmly welcomed and exceptionally well looked after. You can feel that hospitality is truly a way of life here. The spa area also fully met our expectations. We particularly appreciated that it was never crowded. On the contrary, there was ample space and peace to enjoy it undisturbed and truly unwind. We felt very comfortable throughout our entire stay, were able to relax perfectly, and leave everyday life behind. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and are already looking forward to our next visit. Many thanks to the entire team for the wonderful time!
