The Posthotel Achenkirch invites its guests on a journey to the self. The five-star hotel for adults only offers plenty of space to try out and rediscover oneself: whether it's taking lessons with the Shaolin master, promoting inner balance with the help of the doctor for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) or regaining one's strength with the extensive range of sports on offer, including tennis, golf, squash, hiking and cycling. The hotel's Lipizzaner horses, one of the largest private breeds in Europe, are available for horseback riding encounters. The spacious water and sauna world offers 7,000 square metres of retreat and relaxation. Culinary delights include daily TCM dishes and classic Tyrolean cuisine with products from the hotel's own farm.

To ensure that your four-legged friend can enjoy your visit to Achenkirch to the fullest, the accommodation provides bowls, blankets, doggy bags and a little surprise. Inntal motorway A12 (toll sticker required), Wiesing exit, Achensee federal road B181 to Achenkirch. A toll-free journey is also possible via the Achenpass or Bad Tölz. From Munich to the Holzkirchen, Tegernsee, Achenpass or Bad Tölz motorway exit - across the state border to Achenkirch.

Arrival by public transport: By train to Jenbach train station. From there by public bus to Lake Achensee.

The closest airports are Innsbruck (approx. 50km), Munich (approx. 140km) and Salzburg (approx. 150km).

First of all, if we had paid attention to the negative reviews, we wouldn't have had such a wonderful stay. I can't understand what people get so worked up about. Some people are so spoiled and lack empathy, let alone respect. From our arrival to our departure, we had a wonderful stay. We were shown around the hotel and enjoyed a welcome drink in the cozy outdoor area. Our luggage was taken to our room, which was spacious and very clean. Afterwards, we went on our booked horseback ride to the stables adjacent to the hotel. We found very relaxed, clean horses, and the stables were impeccably maintained. Phillip and his team do a fantastic job. The ride itself was also a lot of fun. Thank you for that. The spacious wellness and sauna area was perfect for relaxing and pampering ourselves. Everything was very well thought out and clean. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner left nothing to be desired. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The presentation was stunning, and the taste was top-notch. The service was always very friendly and professional. Moni (always ready with a funny remark) and Kristof (very helpful and friendly) accompanied us throughout our stay. Thank you both! The full body massage and head spa treatments are highly recommended, and we received a very warm welcome there as well. We were in good hands with Ms. Inci and Mr. Csaba. On our departure day, our luggage was taken back to the underground parking garage, where we could then load it into the car. Even then, we were offered assistance, but a little bit of self-help never hurts. Thank you to the entire team for the wonderful stay.

An absolutely rejuvenating stay at the Posthotel Achenkirch! The spa is simply sensational: aromatherapy, sauna, infrared sauna, hammam, cold plunge pool, ice fountain, swimming pools… an impressive array of facilities that makes this place a true haven of relaxation. You leave completely recharged! The team is fantastic, very attentive, and greatly contributes to the warm and soothing atmosphere of the place. A must-visit for anyone looking to truly recharge. 🧖‍♂️✨

Wir waren das dritte Mal im Posthotel und sind weiterhin begeistert. Die Entspannung beginnt ab der ersten Minute. Die Freundlichkeit und Herzlichkeit der Mitarbeiter ist herausragend. Der Service ist wirklich top. Wünsche der vergangenen Aufenthalte sind im System notiert und liegen bei erneuter Anreise schon im Zimmer. Weiterhin hervorheben möchte ich den schönen Saunabereich und den sanierten Teil im Innenbereich , der mittlerweile auch einen neuen Bodenbelag hat. Allgemein wird jedes Jahr etwas saniert/renoviert und ich denke, dass auch die anderen älteren Bereiche eines Tages gemacht werden, sodass ich an dieser Stelle nur ungern meckern möchte ;) Das Essen war wie immer gut, vielleicht etwas schlechter als die letzten Male, was aber eher an unserem Geschmack lag. Nahrungsunverträglichkeiten werden berücksichtigt. Bedient wurden wir mittlerweile von Moni, Lena und Mo. Lieben Dank an alle und einen ganz besonderen Dank und Gruß an Amith, der sich bei Unverträglichkeiten unglaublich bemüht und herzlich ist. Warum dieses Mal nur vier Sterne statt fünf? Leider zieht sich die Herzlichkeit und Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter nicht bis ins Atrium Spa und es hat sich bisher auch nicht gebessert :( die Anwendungen selber sind gut bis sehr gut. Einzelne Mitarbeiter, wie bspw Felicia und Sabine sind auch super lieb und zuvorkommend (Steinöl Signature Treatment bei Felicia ist sehr empfehlenswert). Vielleicht sollten alle Mitarbeiter nochmal geschult werden, sodass es jeder gleich macht. Trotzdem war es wie immer ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt - bis zum nächsten Mal ❤️

We just recently returned from our first trip to the Posthotel Achenkirch and had a most amazing time. The following review will be mostly geared towards North American visitors, since I feel it to be the greatest area of need among the over 1000 reviews previously left. The Posthotel Achenkirch is the original Wellness Hotel in Austria and has its detailed history in pictures on the main floor of the main building. The hotel itself is split into multiple buildings, each representing an add-on to the structure and in a way, a different moment in time. So you will have the feeling of a kind of time travel as you walk from one area to the next. The hotel is also the first Wellness Hotel to have achieved climate neutrality in Austria and is a fantastic representative of the general European movement towards more consciousness in and around climate change and what we can do to live sustainably. We booked the all-inclusive package, which gives you three meals throughout the day along with complete access to the sauna area spanning 7000 m2, free parking, and some other amenities like daily excursions, fitness, lectures, and so forth. Below, I will go into further detail on all the offered points.

The Posthotel Achenkirch is situated in a beautiful setting, surrounded by mountains and nature. It boasts a large wellness and sauna area that shows great attention to detail. Food is available almost all day, and the dinner is particularly excellent! I had a wonderful experience from start to finish and am already looking forward to my next visit!
