The Posthotel Achenkirch invites its guests on a journey to the self. The five-star hotel for adults only offers plenty of space to try out and rediscover oneself: whether it's taking lessons with the Shaolin master, promoting inner balance with the help of the doctor for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) or regaining one's strength with the extensive range of sports on offer, including tennis, golf, squash, hiking and cycling. The hotel's Lipizzaner horses, one of the largest private breeds in Europe, are available for horseback riding encounters. The spacious water and sauna world offers 7,000 square metres of retreat and relaxation. Culinary delights include daily TCM dishes and classic Tyrolean cuisine with products from the hotel's own farm.

To ensure that your four-legged friend can enjoy your visit to Achenkirch to the fullest, the accommodation provides bowls, blankets, doggy bags and a little surprise. Inntal motorway A12 (toll sticker required), Wiesing exit, Achensee federal road B181 to Achenkirch. A toll-free journey is also possible via the Achenpass or Bad Tölz. From Munich to the Holzkirchen, Tegernsee, Achenpass or Bad Tölz motorway exit - across the state border to Achenkirch.

Arrival by public transport: By train to Jenbach train station. From there by public bus to Lake Achensee.

The closest airports are Innsbruck (approx. 50km), Munich (approx. 140km) and Salzburg (approx. 150km).

Why 5 stars? Because we think it's worth every single one. That's why we keep coming back. A big thank you to the incredibly friendly staff at reception, to Branka at the pool bar; to Petra Amit and team in the restaurant; to the riding stables for the lovely carriage ride; to Nikita in the spa; to Bogdan and George at the bar; simply thank you to everyone, including the many hard-working people behind the scenes. It's really not easy to please every guest, but you all manage it very well. Even though there were a few hiccups at dinner this time (with the meat), there was still plenty of choice, something for everyone, and everyone could leave satisfied. There's never a dull moment at the hotel itself; there are always plenty of activities on offer. For us, that's a good reason to come back; see you soon! But now we have a request for the spa guests. Everyone can read or recognize signs—please just leave your cell phones in your room and relax without them. It's truly refreshing. 👍🏿

A very inviting, comfortable hotel, a good feeling to stay in. Although it is very, very old, through regular maintenance it manages to give a good feeling and not feel the fact that it is old compared to newer and more modern hotels. It has many advantages: an amazing, varied and rich breakfast with many types of cold cuts, hard and soft cheeses, the possibility of making healthy juices from fresh vegetables and fruits, a wide variety of cereals, pastries, sea yogurt, and of course a station for preparing omelets of all kinds by a personal chef. The pool complex is diverse, there are quite a few jacuzzi stations and saunas, lots of showers and even a nude bathing area. What didn't we like? The rooms are very pleasant but there is not enough lighting in them, in fact they are quite dark. There is only one toilet in the triple room. In my opinion, another toilet could have been created in the shower area where there is a huge and unnecessary jacuzzi tub. This is a fashion of the past. Who needs a bathtub in the room when there are lots of pools and jacuzzis in the place. The shower stall is tiny. You could build a larger shower stall in a bathroom that is only 7 square meters, sure, in place of the unnecessary bathtub. The TV is not friendly. Every time it is turned on, the hotel channels appear and it takes a while to figure out how to get to the commercial channels. The minibar is tiny. We wanted to bring in products from the supermarket for an evening snack...hardly anything except the local drinks fit in there. It takes 4 minutes for the hot water to arrive. I have already noted that the shower stall is very small and there is a 20 cm step to get into it. Overall, highly recommended, not cheap but worth the price and I hope they improve the things I commented on. One more thing. The jets in the outdoor jacuzzi in the nude area, which is made of stainless steel, most of the time do not work!

At the Posthotel, you can truly unwind and return home feeling completely relaxed. The service is first-class and warm, whether at reception, with luggage service, housekeeping, or in the restaurant. The spa offers top-notch cosmetic and massage treatments (Lomi Lomi Nui, mmmh!), and the food leaves nothing to be desired. The gym is superbly equipped. And in the evenings, you can end the day in the lovely bar, often with live music. We always love coming back.

First of all, if we had paid attention to the negative reviews, we wouldn't have had such a wonderful stay. I can't understand what people get so worked up about. Some people are so spoiled and lack empathy, let alone respect. From our arrival to our departure, we had a wonderful stay. We were shown around the hotel and enjoyed a welcome drink in the cozy outdoor area. Our luggage was taken to our room, which was spacious and very clean. Afterwards, we went on our booked horseback ride to the stables adjacent to the hotel. We found very relaxed, clean horses, and the stables were impeccably maintained. Phillip and his team do a fantastic job. The ride itself was also a lot of fun. Thank you for that. The spacious wellness and sauna area was perfect for relaxing and pampering ourselves. Everything was very well thought out and clean. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner left nothing to be desired. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The presentation was stunning, and the taste was top-notch. The service was always very friendly and professional. Moni (always ready with a funny remark) and Kristof (very helpful and friendly) accompanied us throughout our stay. Thank you both! The full body massage and head spa treatments are highly recommended, and we received a very warm welcome there as well. We were in good hands with Ms. Inci and Mr. Csaba. On our departure day, our luggage was taken back to the underground parking garage, where we could then load it into the car. Even then, we were offered assistance, but a little bit of self-help never hurts. Thank you to the entire team for the wonderful stay.

The spa is simply sensational: aromatherapy, sauna, infrared sauna, hammam, cold plunge pool, ice fountain, swimming pools… an impressive array of facilities that makes this place a true haven of relaxation. You leave completely recharged! The team is fantastic, very attentive, and greatly contributes to the warm and soothing atmosphere of the place.
