Running routes for every ability!

Running at Lake Achensee

The natural topography and the stunning mountain and lake scenery make Lake Achensee one of the most beautiful destinations for runners in the Alps. The region offers a huge variety of running routes along the lakeshore, in the Karwendel valleys and in the mountains. Each year, the region plays host to a number of international top running events.

The region surrounding Tirol’s largest lake boasts 183 kilometres of marked running trails of varying range and difficulty suited for beginners and experienced runners. While beginners find short routes on mostly flat terrain, there are also difficult long routes with steep sections for fell runners. A special highlight is the run around the entire lake, which is also the route of the spectacular Achensee Run.
