Ski touring at Lake Achensee
The Karwendel and Rofan mountains provide countless opportunities for ski touring in the Achensee region – for both advanced skiers and beginners.
Completely alone, surrounded by the tranquillity of the wintry mountainscape, you ascend on skis and discover places which you would otherwise only be able to enjoy in summer. Ski tours open up a totally different perspective of the winter scenery in the Achensee region. The natural form of exercise in complete peace and quiet is a key element to this sport, as are the endless deep snow slopes. The Rofan and Karwendel mountains provide numerous opportunities for ski tours – from short and easy to demanding, steep climbs. The accessibility to the ski areas in the region is a big bonus. Many of the most popular tours, for instance to the Rofan peak, start directly in the ski area.
