The Nature Park Karwendel is a special highlight for holidaymakers in the Achensee region. Austria’s largest nature park is home to the highest population of golden eagles in the entire Alps. The rangers of the Nature Park Karwendel organize guided tours where visitors can watch golden eagles and at the same time learn interesting facts about the nature park.

On selected dates rangers conduct tours into the habitat of the golden eagles. Equipped with sturdy shoes, weather appropriate clothing, drinks and snacks the participants also get the chance to meet other residents of the nature park while hiking through the species-rich flora.

During walking times of 4.5 hours visitors learn many interesting facts about the biology and behaviour of the impressive raptors. The knowledgeable guides will happily answer questions from the participants and take the opportunity to raise awareness of these endangered birds of prey.

Meeting point is at 08.30 at the car park Karwendeltäler in Pertisau. Please register directly with the rangers of the Nature Park Karwendel at +43(664)88446225 (Anton Heufelder). Tours cost EUR 19.00 for adults and EUR 7.50 for children.

More guided hikes are offered in the Achensee region as part of the free hiking programme.
