Good to know
- Padel is a cross between tennis and squash and is currently one of the fastest-growing sports in Europe. It is played in doubles (four players) on a compact court enclosed by glass and mesh walls.
- Similar to squash, the ball can bounce off the walls, allowing you to keep the rally going after a rebound.
- While the scoring and general rules mirror those of tennis, the serve is underhand. This results in longer, more dynamic rallies that emphasize strategy over raw power.
- Padel is remarkably easy to learn. Thanks to the smaller court size and intuitive technique, no prior experience or coaching is required - simply grab a racket and get started!
Padel Court Pertisau – Court Booking
Latest update on the Pertisau padel courts: padel court 2, ‘Sonnjoch’, is now available for booking and play. Padel court 1, ‘Zwölferkopf’, is still under construction. Both courts are expected to be fully available from 15 August 2026.

Equipment rental
Want to give padel a try but don’t have your own gear? No problem! You can rent rackets and balls at all three padel courts at Lake Achensee. Alternatively, you can also rent equipment from Sport Leithner.
