Inntal highway A12 (toll sticker required), exit Wiesing/Achensee, Achensee street B181 to Achenkirch. It is also possible to travel toll-free via the Achen Pass or Bad Tölz. From Munich to the highway exit Holzkirchen, Tegernsee, Achenpass or Bad Tölz - across the state border to Achenkirch.

Arrival by public transport: By train to Jenbach train station. From there take the public bus to Achensee. See bus schedule www.vvt.at. Free of charge when you show your reservation confirmation.

A beautiful hotel, both inside and out. The rooms and suites are very tastefully decorated, modern yet cozy. There's a fantastic indoor/outdoor pool combined with a larger outdoor pool. A small but well-equipped gym and a yoga room offer various included classes. The restaurant is a combination of buffet and à la carte dining, and leaves nothing to be desired. The service staff is very attentive. The Kronthaler also boasts an excellent spa; thank you, Bernhard, for the best anti-muscle-soreness massage of my life. We were absolutely delighted with everything. Our golfing wishes were arranged for us, and we gladly accepted and followed the hiking tips. The area is truly incredibly beautiful and diverse. This was our first stay for five nights, and we will certainly return.

Hello to our over 2.2 million readers. Current rating: neutral. We visited DAS KRONTHALER at Lake Achensee. The reviews are quite varied, so my daughter and I decided to see for ourselves. The communication beforehand started promisingly: An underground parking space was reserved—albeit with an additional €15 charge. Communication and responses to inquiries were very quick. A massage could also be booked through the hotel. The directions to the hotel are a bit unusual. If you're in the gondola parking lot, simply drive straight ahead to the left past the pavilion, and you'll come directly to a barrier that leads to the hotel. The first parking spaces are directly in front of the hotel on the right, and then there are a few more on the left. You drive directly past the hotel to reach the underground parking garage. The walk from the garage to the reception, which is on the same level, is less than 50 meters, in my opinion. Check-in was super quick, and we found our rooms right away. Important: the reception is on level -1, and the restaurant is accessible via a staircase on level 0. The rooms are really spacious, and each of our rooms had a balcony. A beach bag with towels is provided in the room—no slippers, but you can get those at reception. The indoor pool has an indoor section (approx. 15 meters long) and an outdoor pool… really lovely, with about 20 loungers outside and 40 inside. The sauna has many small sections and a large sauna with infusions. Plenty of showers… and yes, not much space to cool off outdoors. You just have to accept that and take a cold shower. The bar for the welcome drink, etc., is on the 4th floor. Great view.

Während unseren Aufenthalts haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt, deshalb werden wir auch wieder kommen. Das dekadente Gelaber einiger Zeitgenossen bei den Bewertugen ist ein realistisches Sinnbild von Teilen der Gesellschaft - jaulen auf höchstem Niveau. Ich wünsche allen hier Beschäftigten alles Gute und sage DANKE !!!!

Ich bin aktuell im Rahmen eines Yoga-Retreats im DAS KRONTHALER und genieße meinen Aufenthalt sehr. Der Yoga-Raum ist wunderschön, die Zimmer sind toll, der Ausblick traumhaft und die Lage mitten in der Natur einfach perfekt. Besonders begeistert mich auch das hervorragende, abwechslungsreiche und gesunde Essen. Sehr sympathisch finde ich außerdem die Auswahl an Büchern in der Lobby. Ich schätze Menschen und Orte, die den Mut haben, Dinge kritisch zu hinterfragen, unterschiedliche Perspektiven zuzulassen und auch dann ihren eigenen Weg zu gehen, wenn dieser nicht dem Mainstream entspricht. Das Eintreten für Eigenverantwortung, persönliche Freiheit und offenen Diskurs spricht mich sehr an. Ich freue mich auf die restlichen Tage meines Retreats – ein wirklich besonderer Ort, an dem ich mich sehr wohlfühle.

From May 14th to 17th, 2026, I stayed at the Krontaler Hotel on Lake Achensee for the second time, and I had been looking forward to my return for a long time. I had actually wanted to go back much sooner, so it was all the more wonderful that it finally worked out. What particularly struck me this time was the exceptionally warm welcome (unfortunately, I don't remember the receptionist's name). I traveled alone this time and was greeted personally with a handshake. Instead of the usual questions like "Did you arrive by car?" or "Where did you park?", I was actually asked, "Did you have a pleasant journey?" I don't think I've ever experienced such a warm welcome in any hotel before, and that includes 5-star hotels. Everything was shown to me again at my leisure, and I was even treated to a glass of wonderful rosé sparkling wine. Even in those first few minutes, I had the feeling... I was in the right place. ' ... It's this special atmosphere that makes the Krontaler so unique for me. You don't just feel like a guest, but truly welcome and cared for (of course, this also depends on how open you are 😊). The two hikes I did during my stay were simply fantastic. The landscape around Lake Achensee is absolutely beautiful, and every hike was a real experience. Breakfast is always an absolute highlight for me. I especially love the option of making my own fresh juices from various vegetables. Add to that the incredible variety of high-quality and lovingly presented products, the freshly prepared eggs à la carte, and the porridge. For me, breakfast is definitely one of the reasons why I keep coming back to the Krontaler. I'd also like to give a special mention to the entire team. I felt wonderfully looked after at both breakfast and dinner. Many employees have been with the company for a long time, and you can really feel it 💜 They are warm, attentive, thoughtful, and pleasantly personal. It's simply wonderful to return after some time and see familiar faces. And then, of course, there was my own personal relaxation time in the sauna. I loved being asked which fragrance I preferred. It's these little touches that make a stay so special for me. I thoroughly enjoyed these four days. So much so that I almost didn't want to go home. For me, the Krontaler is a place where hospitality isn't just promised, but truly lived. I felt completely at ease and am already looking forward to my next stay at Lake Achensee. The service staff and reception were absolutely top-notch 😍 and I loved their sense of humor.

A very positive experience The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and excellently managed. I would especially like to commend the staff: everyone was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and professional. The management clearly had a very good eye for talent when selecting the team – and that's certainly not something to take for granted these days. I find some of the reviews somewhat unfair, particularly the criticism of the books offered at the hotel. My impression is that some of those who speak of "conspiracy theories" haven't actually looked into the content of the books. In my opinion, they are anything but baseless theories. The managing director and owner's stance during the COVID-19 pandemic also deserves respect, in my view. He didn't simply bow to the prevailing zeitgeist or any political pressure, but stood up for his convictions and showed backbone. You don't have to agree with him on every point – but I find it remarkable when someone has the courage to take a well-reasoned position. I felt very comfortable at the Kronthaler and will definitely return. I wish the entire Kronthaler team all the best!
