Fountain at the Schanzkapelle

A new drinking water fountain is located at the Schanzkapelle in Achenwald, about 200 metres before Gasthof Marie when coming from Achenkirch.
The present chapel was opened in 1980 and replaced an earlier chapel from the 18th century. The late Baroque ceiling paintings from the original chapel were transferred to the new building. They show Saint Sebastian and scenes of traditional crafts from the Achental Valley.
