Inntal Motorway A12 (toll sticker required), exit Wiesing/Achensee, Achensee Federal Road B181 to Achenkirch. A toll-free journey is also possible via the Achen Pass or Bad Tölz. From Munich to the motorway exit Holzkirchen, Tegernsee, Achenpass or Bad Tölz – crossing the state border to Achenkirch.

Arrival by public transport: Take the train to Jenbach station. From there, take the public bus to Achensee. See bus schedule www.vvt.at. The journey to Achensee in Achenkirch is free with your reservation confirmation.

We stayed at the Hotel Baretta during our Alpine crossing with ASI. If you don't place particular importance on luxury or a perfect exterior and appreciate the simple things, this is a good place for you. The rooms appear to have been recently renovated and are modern and well-maintained. Breakfast was adequate and offered everything you need for a good start to the day. We were particularly pleasantly surprised by dinner: a three-course meal with a starter (soup or salad), a choice of two main courses, and dessert. The service deserves special mention: the staff were exceptionally attentive, friendly, and helpful. You almost felt like they were anticipating your every need. Our room faced the street, which made it a bit noisy at night. Aside from that, however, we had no complaints. Overall, a solid hotel with renovated rooms, good food, and very warm service, perfectly suited for our overnight stay during the Alpine crossing.

Sehr schönes Familienhotel. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig. Wir waren schon in großen Häusern und da war das Frühstück nicht so reichhaltigen. Halbpension war gut, Suppe, Salatbuffet und 2 Hauptgerichte zur Auswahl und Dessert. Schade war, dass wir nicht gleich am erdten Tag die Kurkarte erhalten haben. Sind mit dem Auto am Ankunftstag in Ort kaum Parkplätze und teuer. Die Bushaltestelle ist nur 5 Minuten vom Hotel entfernt. Schöne Terrasse zum Entspannen.

We stayed here as a hiking group for one night in June/July. The rooms are okay. The hotel grounds are a bit run-down. Dinner was so-so. We had the pulled pork stew, which was about as far from pulled pork as cheese is from salami, but it still tasted okay. The cheese and ham wrap was also tasty, but at almost €14, it was far too expensive. The hotel is located right on the main road, but contrary to our expectations, it wasn't actually a problem.

Wir hatten eine Zwischenübernachtung gebucht. Die Lage an der Straße ist dafür ideal, aber natürlich ist es durch die verkehrsgünstige Lage auch ein bisschen laut. Das Zimmer war ausreichend groß und hatte einen großen Balkon. Das Abendessen war super, das Frühstück ebenfalls. Preis/Leistung ist auf jeden Fall gut. Die Inhaber sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Essen war Super, die Leute waren total herzig, die Zimmer waren sauber und schön, wirklich alles Perfekt! Das einzige was mich ein bisschen gestört hat, war das man die Straße bei offenem Fenster gehört hat (bei geschlossenem Fenster hört man aber nichts 👍🏻)

We stayed here for a week. The hotel is on the main road, but you can't hear a thing with the windows closed. The rooms were a good size and the bathroom was lovely. Shopping and gas stations were nearby. Many hiking trails start here, but the area's proximity to Lake Achensee naturally offers many more hiking opportunities. The service was excellent. We had our dog with us, and he felt right at home. The food was fantastic every day—always fresh and delicious. Breakfast was a buffet, and for dinner, you could choose between two appetizers and two main courses. Dessert was always wonderful. The portions were very generous, and we were always satisfied! For us, as there are two vegetarians in the family, there was always a great selection of vegetarian options.
