Take the motorway A12 (toll sticker required), exit at Wiesing/Achensee and follow the Achensee federal road B181 until you reach Maurach after 7 kilometres. Toll-free journey is possible via Achenpass or Bad Tölz. From Munich, follow the motorway and exit at Holzkirchen, then continue via Tegernsee and Achenpass or via Bad Tölz to the national border. Follow the road to Achenkirch and drive to Maurach.

Getting here by public transport: Take the traain to the train station Jenbach. From here, Lake Achensee is just a short bus ride away, see bus timetables at www.vvt.at. Your reservation confirmation is your free bus ticket to Maurach.

The nearest airports are Innsbruck (50km), Munich (ca. 140km), and Salzburg (ca. 150km). You can pre-book transfers to and from all airports with Taxi Kröll in Maurach, Tel. +43(5243)43280, www.taxikroell.com or with the airport transfer service Four Seasons Travel Tel. +43(512)584157, www.tirol-taxi.at.

Ein Sehr schönes,gepflegtes Hotel. Das Personal ist zuvorkommend und freundlich. Die Zimmer geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Betten sind super bequem, man schläft traumhaft. We had a wonderful short stay. Our room was great, with an infrared sauna and a partial lake view, and it was wonderfully quiet at night. Communication with the hotel was always friendly and straightforward. Breakfast was excellent – nothing was lacking: fresh egg dishes, freshly squeezed juice, yogurt, muesli, and a wide selection of everything. We also received very friendly service at the pizzeria. The pizza was fantastic, and the service was impeccable – something that's truly rare these days. We would love to come back and highly recommend you.

If you're looking for a completely carefree holiday, this is the place for you! We came to Arthur's based on a recommendation and are happy to pass it on. The rooms are cozy and modernly furnished with very high-quality amenities (I've never had such a quiet-closing bathroom door). The location is perfect; the cable car is within walking distance, the lake is right nearby, as are the many shopping opportunities! The pizzeria in the hotel is also highly recommended. All the staff are incredibly friendly and very accommodating. We would love to come back again!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Arthurs Hotel on Lake Achensee and were completely satisfied in every respect. We had a rooftop suite with a private sauna, which was absolutely fantastic. The suite was very clean, high-quality, and simply perfect for relaxation. We especially enjoyed the private sauna every day; it was a real highlight of our stay. The entire hotel was also very well-maintained. We would particularly like to emphasize the friendliness of all the staff. We always felt welcome and well taken care of. A special thank you goes to Lisa, who was always available and promptly and easily accommodated our requests. This is not something to be taken for granted these days and made our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was outstanding: very extensive, varied, and truly lacking nothing. We can also highly recommend the hotel's restaurant. The quality of the food was excellent, and everything was just right there as well. We wholeheartedly recommend Arthurs Hotel on Lake Achensee and would love to return.

We spent a wonderful weekend at Arthurs Hotel on Lake Achensee. The staff is very attentive, warm, and incredibly friendly. The rooms are spacious, clean, and you immediately feel at home. The breakfast buffet is varied and leaves nothing to be desired. The hotel is perfectly located for all kinds of hikes; the Rofan cable car is right nearby, and Lake Achensee is just a few minutes away. We will definitely be back!

Klare Weiterempfehlung! Der Empfang war super schnell und unkompliziert. Die Dame war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Wir haben ein kostenloses Zimmer-Upgrade erhalten. Kostenloses parken war möglich. Frühstück sehr gut. Die Lage ist optimal, über die Straße war ein Supermarkt.

Arthur's Hotel am Achensee is a nice, relatively small hotel on the main street in Maurach. Our room (Karwendel) was quite large, with a small sofa and an infrared sauna. The bathroom was also very spacious, well-lit, and modernly furnished. The hotel has ample free parking. The breakfast buffet is manageable, but not small—just not overflowing. There's a selection of different rolls and breads, many cheeses, and also muesli and yogurt—something for everyone. We had a small dog with us—no problem at the hotel. However, the dog wasn't allowed at the breakfast buffet. There's a great spot for a morning or evening stroll right behind the hotel. The area was simply fantastic for us as hikers. There are wonderful hiking trails in every direction with great mountain huts and alpine pastures. Lake Achensee is only about a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Lisa at reception gave us many helpful tips and was very kind and friendly overall. Before our arrival, she contacted us to ask if we needed a table reservation for the evening – without it, we would have been cutting it close for dinner. :) All in all, highly recommended and certainly not our last visit!
