Special outdoor experience!

Mindful camping at Lake Achensee

Tent, camper van, caravan, or a small sleeping pod under the stars: Camping and caravan holidays are a popular option if you love the great outdoors. And if you really want to unplug and connect with nature, the appeal of pitching up in the wilderness is obvious. However, wild camping and camping in car parks is not permitted anywhere at Lake Achensee and in the mountains, and the region is patrolled regularly. The region has five campsites which are open in summer and in winter. All of them offer gorgeous views and some have free access to the lake, letting you enjoy the benefits of staying outdoors to the full.

Are you a fan of packing and travelling light? Do you enjoy waking up to the sounds of nature, savouring your first coffee in the morning sun, and not having set mealtimes? Your outdoor adventure starts here!

Alpen Caravan Park Achensee

This campsite enjoys an idyllic setting directly at Lake Achensee and features 180 pitches, double rooms and apartments, a restaurant, an adventure water park for children, and an indoor kid’s club. In winter, the cross-country ski run is right on your doorstep. Alternatively, you can take the free ski bus to the starting points of your favourite routes.

Achensee Camping Schwarzenau

This campsite is beautifully situated in a mixed forest directly at the lake between Achenkirch and Maurach. All pitches lie on terraced terrain and afford gorgeous views of Lake Achensee. Sleeping pods allow even non-campers to experience the flair of a camping holiday. In addition, a sauna with lake access is great to relax after an active day. Open in winter!

Karwendel-Camping

This campsite is quietly located on the edge of the forest, just a few minutes’ walk from Lake Achensee. In addition to ca. 90 pitches, the campsite offers apartments and five Tirolean-style log cabins. You don’t feel like cooking? No problem! The Karwendel-Camping’s restaurant serves traditional homemade fare and venison from their own hunting grounds. Open in winter!

Seecamping Wimmer

Seecamping Wimmer, which is located directly at Lake Achensee, offers ca. 150 pitches laid out in spacious terraces. There is also a restaurant on site. The children's playground and bathing beach are only 100 metres away, and the jetty of the Achenseeschifffahrt is 250 metres away. The Rofan cable car, which takes you up the mountain to scenic hiking trails, is just one kilometre away.

Camping Inntal

This campsite enjoys a sunny and central location in the Inntal valley within a 10-minute drive from Lake Achensee. In addition to ca. 150 pitches on terraced terrain the campsite offers two holiday apartments, two mobile homes and fancy camping barrels which sleep two to six people. The campsite also features a spa area, an outdoor pool, and a restaurant. Open in winter!

For us, "mindful camping" means connecting with nature, bonding with family and friends, spending time with people who share our passion for the outdoors and being respectful of our environment.
