Achensee New Year’s Eve Swim
Every year on 31 December, the traditional New Year's Eve Swim at Lake Achensee draws daring participants into the chilly waters. Swimmers jump off the pier and swim 25 metres to an inflatable iceberg, where they climb up, ring the New Year's bell, and then swim back to shore. The event also includes a popular FUN competition, where participants dress in creative costumes and jump into the lake, with the most imaginative outfits winning applause and prizes. Many spectators gather along the promenade in Pertisau to cheer on the swimmers. This exciting event is organized by the diving club Blackdivers Tirol.
