Bayreuther Hütte
Bayreuther Hütte is located at 1,576 metres in the Rofan mountains, above the Inn Valley. Opposite lie the Zillertal and the Alpbachtal. The hut was built in 1908 by the Lentsch family from Hall in Tirol as a private Rofan hut and has been owned by the German Alpine Club (DAV), Bayreuth section, since 1926.
It is a popular base for hikes in the Rofan range, including tours to Lake Zireiner See (approx. 1–1.5 hours walking time). A sun terrace offers wide views over the Inn Valley as well as the Zillertal and the Alpbachtal. Overnight accommodation is available.
Well-known peaks in the surrounding area include Berger Kopf, Vorderes Sonnwendjoch, Sagzahn, Rofanspitze, Roßkogel and Haidachstellwand.
Ascent to Bayreuther Hütte:
The hut can be reached from Kramsach in around 3 hours. From Münster, district of Höllenstein, the Steinapfelsteig trail leads to the hut in about 2.5 hours.
For mountain bikers, the forest road from Münster, district of Grünsbach, is recommended.
During the ascent, there are views over the Inn Valley and as far as the main Alpine ridge.
