Biking on Achensee
The Rofan and Karwendel mountains provide the perfect prerequisites to get pedalling. The variety on offer ranges from leisurely flat tours through to demanding trails in the mountains.
The region provides 250 kilometres of officially approved road and mountain bike routes and is one of the best places for mountain biking in Tirol.
Riding for pleasure
Due to its perfect topographical conditions, Achensee also offers quite a number of tours for cyclists who are keen to discover the natural surroundings. The “more gentle” cycle trails take you along the banks of the lake to one or another romantically located lateral valley, or to well-known Alpine pastures, and these are also easy to get to from the towns.
The entire region is following the E-Bike trend. Electric bikes can be hired from 13 hire stations along Achensee.
Challenging tours in the mountains
Challenging and action-packed mountain bike routes in all difficulty levels can be found in all the towns in the holiday region. These officially approved routes proceed for the most part across forest and agricultural roads, away from any traffic.
Achensee is also the starting point for the famous Karwendel Loop Tour, which runs right through the mountains of the same name.
At 305.5 kilometres in length and with 6896 metres of climbing it is regarded by mountain bikers as the ‘King’ of tours.
münchen venezia and Bike Trail Tirol
The region of Achensee is also a proud member of Bike Trail Tirol and münchen venezia. Both these cycling trails are very well signposted in the achensee region.
The route München Venezia is a bycicle pleasure trip with a total length of 560 kilometres from munich via Achensee to the adria. Further information available at www.muenchen-venezia.info
