Nordic Skiing at Lake Achensee
Lake Achensee is one of the most beautiful cross-country skiing regions in Austria.
Nestled between the Karwendel mountains and the lake, the region boasts more than 200 kilometres of perfectly groomed cross-country ski trails. Every day our groomers make sure that the tracks in the villages and remote side valleys are perfectly prepared.
In total, seven staff members are responsible for preparing perfectly spaced tracks in Achenkirch, Maurach, Pertisau, Steinberg and Wiesing – whether there is much or little snow. Several factors determine which trails will be open, such as snow depth and danger of avalanches. Ski conditions, snow totals and weather reports are updated daily.
Six state-of-the-art Kässbohrer and Prinoth groomers are currently in use, and regular training courses ensure that staff are up to date with the latest technology.
