Lamsenspitze

Elevation Profile

Description

The Lamsenspitze is the distinctive eponymous peak of the area and relatively easy to climb via the via ferrata on the south side. It breaks off to the east and north, with sheer walls of up to 350 metres high, and dominates the landscape around the Lamsenjoch hut. While the routes on the left-hand side of the east wall are no longer in use, the right-hand side, especially the lower half, offers solid rock. The routes in the "Dreamland" climbing crag nowadays end where the rock decreases in quality. The longer routes all inevitably end on the north-eastern edge, as this much-climbed classic provides the best passage to the secondary summit.
