Join the Achensee ski tour camp run by certified mountain guides and get educated on backcountry safety. Learn how to assess the terrain and how to use avalanche safety gear. Along with theory sessions, you will gain hands-on experience.
Itinerary
Day 1
- Participants meet at 08.30 at the event centre in Maurach
- Greetings and introductions by the mountain guides, equipment presentation
- Distribution of test equipment (skis, avalanche beacon, shovel, probe)
- Guided ski tour in open terrain (Rofan mountains) according to skill level, with tips from certified mountain & ski guides
- Completion of the avalanche educational trail in the Rofan mountains, incl. hands-on emergency and safety training in open terrain
- Group dinner at the Erfurter Hütte mountain hut, followed by an avalanche awareness lecture
Day 2
- From 07.30 breakfast at the Erfurter Hütte mountain hut
- Tour planning together with certified mountain guides - information, tips, how to read maps, etc.
- Additional equipment tests and short practice sessions (Rofan mountains), combined with a guided ski tour and conquering a summit
Participants will receive the detailed schedule and packing list by email before the camp. The schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions.
