Achensee Running Camp

From spring to late autumn, Lake Achensee is a popular destination for running enthusiasts. The region hosts various event highlights in stunning natural settings, such as the Running Camp from 3rd to 6th May 2018 and the Achensee Run on 1st & 2nd September 2018.

The region surrounding Tirol’s largest lake boasts 183 kilometres of waymarked running trails of varying range and difficulty –  along the lakeshore, in the valleys or in the mountains.

Lake Achensee offers running enthusiasts the perfect opportunity to start the running season under professional guidance. The extended weekend from 3rd to 6th May is perfect for all athletes who usually cover distances between five kilometres and a half-marathon. The participants will run together with expert coach and sports scientist Ben Reszel and learn how to train properly. Analyses, technical tips and lectures on training and nutrition also provide comprehensive information for the running season. Local guides will also take part in the races and share their insider tips for the best routes at Lake Achensee.

Thursday, 3rd May

  • Arrival in accordance with appointments for lactate test
  • From 9.00 a.m. lactate tests in the panorama fitness centre of the Kinderhotel Buchau (shuttle service from Zillertaler Hof to Kinderhotel Buchau will be available)
  • From 5.00 p.m. get-together
  • From 6.30 p.m. dinner at Hotel Zillertaler Hof

Friday, 4th May – Trail running day

  • 7.00 a.m. morning run, optional
  • Breakfast
  • From 9.30 a.m. presentation of Salming running products, testing opportunity during a run alongside Lake Achensee
  • From 1.00 p.m. guided runs with local coaches in various ability groups in Pertisau
  • Wellness & recreation at the hotel
  • From 6.30 p.m. dinner at Hotel Zillertaler Hof

Saturday, 5th May – Natural Running Day

  • 7.00 a.m. morning run, optional
  • Breakfast
  • From 9.30 a.m. presentation of Salomon and Suunto products, testing opportunity during guided runs in different ability groups
  • Tips and tricks for trail running
  • Approx. 12.00 noon lunch break
  • From 1.30 p.m. running ABC and running style video analysis and evaluation
  • 6.30 p.m. dinner at Hotel Zillertaler Hof
  • From 8.30 p.m. evaluation and lecture on lactate tests

Sunday, 6th May

  • 7.00 a.m. morning run
  • approx. 8.30 a.m. breakfast
  • 10.30 a.m. functional training for runners
  • Individual departure

Programme may change at short notice depending on weather conditions.

The price for the Running Camp package is EUR 495 incl. overnight stay with half board at ****Hotel Zillertaler Hof in Achenkirch. Participation without overnight stay is available at a package price of EUR 285.
