Back since 2009 – the legendary Karwendelmarsch offers long-distance hikers and runners a very special natural and sporting experience. On 31st August 2019 the Karwendelmarsch will celebrate its revival for the 11th time.
Participants will meet on 31st August 2019 at 6.00 a.m. at the starting point in Scharnitz to cover either the 35 km route (only available to hikers) or the 52 km route in their chosen activity.
From Scharnitz, the route proceeds via Schafstallboden, Karwendelhaus, Kleiner Ahornboden, Falkenhütte, Eng and Binsalm, Gramai-Hochleger and Gramaialm down to Pertisau at Achensee.
In addition to the sporting challenge, the focus is on the protection of the Karwendel region, human health and the awareness of nature. During the march the participants can fortify themselves with regional organic products at the refreshment stations, and those who finish the challenge will be rewarded with free Tiroler Steinöl® products.
