Tirolean Mountain Christmas
Advent in the centuries-old barn – The Sixenhof in Achenkirch is a typical Tirolean single farmhouse and home to the Achental local history museum.
In the Advent season, the Sixenhof provides the peaceful setting for the “Mountain Christmas”, whose main attraction is a nativity scene in the centuries-old barn complete with life-size figures and real live animals. Visitors can also admire a traditionally decorated Christmas tree and one of the oldest nativity scenes of the Achental. As you soak in the quaint atmosphere, warm up with hot drinks and “Zelten”, a traditional fruit bread from the local bakery. The entry fee includes a visit to the 14 rooms of the museum.
The programme of events may vary because of coronavirus rules. For more information, visit sixenhof.at.
