Swimming at Lake Achensee - In Tirol's Sports & Vitality Park, the lake glistens in mysterious blue and turquoise. Nestled between the Rofan mountains and the Nature Park Karwendel, the largest protected area in the Northern Limestone Alps, lies a natural treasure. Lake Achensee is situated at an elevation of approximately 930 metres, is nine kilometres long, and 133 metres at its deepest point. Swimmers enjoy the accessible shoreline, and nature lovers are fond of the colours. The underlying light-coloured limestone rock causes the surface of the water to shimmer in hues of Caribbean turquoise and aquamarine.
The bathing beach Seespitz in Maurach at the southernmost end of Lake Achensee offers a large sunbathing lawn with access to the lake and sanitary facilities. The waters shimmer in beautiful hues of tropical turquoise. Free admission.
The SEE-Bad at the Atoll Achensee is a popular swimming spot for families. Parents and children enjoy whiling away hot summer days on the large sunbathing lawn directly at the lake. The FAMILY-Eldorado play area and the BEACH-bar are special highlights there. Admission fee is charged.
The Strandbad Pertisau lies on the southern lakeshore and is a popular place for families to cool off on hot summer days. The bathing beach features a 5000m2 sunbathing lawn and has direct access to the lake. Free admission.
In Achenkirch, a designated swimming area was created which develops higher water temperatures in summer. A large play area with water playground, pirate ship and observation tower keep children entertained. Plus, there is a kiosk selling refreshments. Free admission.
The bathing beach Achenseehof bathing beach features a large sunbathing lawn with playground (free admission). A beverage station also quenches the thirst and small hunger of bathers.
The bathing beach Schwarzenau offers the perfect infrastructure: a large sunbathing lawn with kiosk, terrace, camping site and sanitary facilities. Free admission until 13 years.
