Via ferratas at Lake Achensee

There are a few classic via ferrata routes in Achensee, and there are also contemporary via ferrata routes such as the Achensee 5-summit via ferrata, which stands out thanks to its breath-taking views down into the depths below and far into the distance.

The access to the via ferrata routes is very easy which means you can venture quickly into this vertical rocky realm. No need for complicated knots or rope manoeuvres are necessary, provided you have the required prerequisites such as surefootedness and a head for heights.

Achensee 5-summit via ferrata

This special via ferrata route runs across the five main peaks in the Rofan mountains. This provides climbers with the opportunity to tackle each of the summits individually and also to cut the journey short. Beginners and via ferrata first-timers don’t have to work their way through the entire two kilometre route. Climbing all five routes is reserved for experienced via ferrata climbers.
