Via ferrata at Lake Achensee

There are a few classic via ferrata routes in Achensee, and there are also contemporary via ferrata routes such as the Achensee 5-Peaks Via Ferrata, which stands out thanks to its breath-taking views down into the depths below and far into the distance.

The access to the via ferrata routes is very easy which means you can venture quickly into this vertical rocky realm. No need for complicated knots or rope manoeuvres here, so long as you have certain fundamentals, such as surefootedness and a head for heights.

Achensee 5-Peaks Via Ferrata

This special via ferrata route runs across the five main peaks in the Rofan mountains. This provides walkers with the opportunity to tackle each of the summits individually and also to cut the journey short. Novices and those new to via ferrata routes don’t necessarily have to work their way through the two kilometre tour. Crossing all the routes is reserved for experienced via ferrata users.
