Ready for spring at Lake Achensee
The feeling of not having to take a heavy outdoor jacket with you for the first time after winter, seeing the first dandelions bloom and being out and about barefoot. You can feel it too – summer is just around the corner. And the region surrounding Tirol’s largest lake will open its doors to visitors again. We are excited for the upcoming season starting on 19 May 2021: Welcome to Lake Achensee! Already in spring, the region offers a multitude of activities for every age and interest, ranging from biking to hiking to action-packed experiences.
While riding your mountain bike over the soft forest floor and seeing the first daisies on the meadows, the warm summer days already feel very close. Pleasure cyclists ride along the gentle paths of the lakeshore from Pertisau via Maurach to Achenkirch and back. Those who look for more challenging tours choose one of the side valleys of the Nature Park Karwendel. All tours in the region can be found at maps.achensee.com.
The Karwendel valleys are also wonderful to explore by foot. Where just a few weeks ago cross-country ski trails ran along, the flora and fauna are gradually awakening from their winter sleep. No matter if you just want to go for a leisurely stroll or go on your first hike of the season, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The route alongside the lake is ideal for runners.
For families strolling along the lakeshore, there are two places that are well worth a visit: The children’s playground at the Atoll Achensee in Maurach and the adventure playground on the northern lakeshore in Achenkirch offer fun and action for small visitors while the grown-ups enjoy the holiday feeling, soaking in the beautiful views of the mountains and lake.
Are you looking for action-packed activities? The Achensee Adventure Park is the centre for adrenaline junkies. Abandoned on a raft, the aim of the outdoor escape game is to solve all puzzles within an hour and navigate safely back to the mainland. In addition to this exciting team challenge, there are many other activities on offer, such as a forest high ropes course, tandem flights, canyoning, archery, and One Wheel – an electric all-terrain skateboard that transports visitors “back to the future”, so to speak. Boredom is definitely not an option!
We are already looking forward to seeing you again. Of course, the health and safety of our guests and community will remain our top priority. Click here to read all important information about the coronavirus and the current entry regulations.
