Mountain huts with playgrounds
Three mountain huts in the holiday region Achensee have tailored their offers to suit children.
Parents can enjoy a coffee and take in the panoramic view while their children are busy exploring the playground.
One of the highlights for children is the Gramaialm mountain hut in the Karwendel valleys in Pertisau. Visitors can cover the seven kilometre long route to the end of the Falzthurntal valley by bike or by foot or hop on the nostalgic bus. At the Gramaialm the children explore the adventure playground with trampoline, slides, swings and various modern and safe play equipment. Wading in the Kneipp basin is refreshing and exploring the barefoot path a fun experience. Another highlight is the petting zoo with goats, pot-bellied pigs, ducks and dwarf rabbits – feeding allowed. The terrace is directly adjacent to the playground so the children are always within eyesight.
Another popular destination for a family excursion in the Nature Park Karwendel is the Gernalm mountain hut. From Pertisau the walking time is two hours, or you can go by car or bike directly to the mountain hut. The main attraction for kids is the adventure playground “Gimp’l Park”. There is plenty on offer here for small adventurers: climbing frame, trampoline, cable car, water park, sandbox, slackline, swings and slides. In the adjacent game reserve the children can watch deer close up. Cows, calves and rabbits also look forward to your visit.
The Gaisalm mountain hut which is only accessible by foot or ship, is quietly nestled between Pertisau and Achenkirch. Children can explore the playground and the large meadow while the parents enjoy the view of the lake. A round-trip to the Gaisalm with one of the Achensee steamers is also an adventure for kids.
