Holidays are the best time of the year! The Achensee offers many attractions for the whole family. Especially for children there are countless opportunities to discover new things and experience exciting adventures. Here are some tips for having a good time with your loved ones.

Around the Achensee there is a variety of alpine pastures, inns, and places to stop for refreshments – and lots of attractions for the little ones. The Alpengasthof Gernalm is just 5 kilometres from Pertisau and offers the idyllic adventure playground “Gimp’l Park”. a climbing tower, trampoline, cable car, water playground, sandpit, slackline, swings and a small children’s slide keep the little guests entertained. In addition to the many modern playgrounds, there is also a game enclosure where deer and roe deer can be seen up close. Cows, calves and hares are also at home on the alpine pasture at the end of the Gerntal and look forward to a visit!
Experience animals up close
More animals can be experienced in the petting zoo of the Gramai Alm at an elevation of 1,200 metres. The goat Elvis and the pot-bellied pigs Julia and Uschi are the stars of the alpine pasture, but also dwarf rabbits and a family of ducks are waiting for a few treats from children’s hands. While the kids play with the animals, the adults are provided with culinary specialities on the sun terrace, and the children are always within eyesight. The adjacent modern Gramai adventure playground also offers plenty of space to romp and play. Many other attractions are lined up here, including an exciting barefoot path and a cold Kneipp pool.
For adventure seekers and newcomers: Climbing & hiking at Lake Achensee
The Achensee also offers a wealth of activities for climbing enthusiasts: The BOULDER Hall in the Atoll Achensee comprises 180 square metres and has 1,400 grips at various levels of difficulty, putting beginners and professionals alike to the test. The Adventurepark Achensee in Achenkirch takes you even further up the mountain: in the forest high rope course, intrepid climbers of all ability levels can prove their courage and balance. The seven different routes at lofty heights between three and 15 metres above ground require a head for heights! Swaying bridges, swinging nets swinging tree trunks guarantee pure climbing fun. If you still haven’t had enough after such a tour, you can take part in the varied adventure programme which attracts with slacklines, archery, canyoning and the like.
